A
policeman patrolling the streets of Dublin late one winter's night noticed a
man on his hands and knees under a lamp-post.
`And what might
you be up to?' he asked.
`Sure, I've dropped
a ten-pound note, constable,' explained the man,
`and I'm trying
to find it.'
`Are you sure you
dropped it here?' asked the policeman.
`No - I dropped
it somewhere in the next street,' said the man.
`Then what the
devil are you looking in this street for?' said the policeman.
`Because the light's
better here,' replied the Dubliner.
